This 12 Days “The Grand Indonesia Tour” will take you to the heart of the most important temple compounds of Indonesia. Following the mysticism of Borobodur and Prambanan you will enjoy the traditions and customs of Tana Toraja Region, which offers a wide cultural and natural landscape. After that you will discover the real Bali from his cultural city in Ubud.

YAKARTA- YOGYAKARTA – Borobudur – Prambanan – TORAJA – RANTEPAO – BALI – UBUD- KINTAMANI- BESAKIH.
This charming trip will take you to the heart of the most important temple compounds of Indonesia. After that you will discover the real Bali from his cultural city in Ubud.

DAY 1 WELCOME TO YAKARTA – YOGYAKARTA
Arrive Yakarta, Inmigration clearance and connecting flight to Yogyakarta.
Arriva a Yogyakarta and directly transfer to the Hotel. Accomodation.

DAY 2 YOGYAKARTA / TRIP TO borobudur – prambanan
Trip to the worldwide famous Buddhist Temple Borobudur, which holds over 500 Buddha statues and thousands of relief panels. Then we will visit Prambanan, the biggest Hindu temple compound of Indonesia. These temples are dedicated to Trimurti, the expression of God as the creator (Brahma), the Sustainer (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva)- the Hindu Trinity.

DAY 3 YOGYAKARTA – MAKASSAR – TORAJA
Transfer to the airport to flight to Makassar.
Arrival to the airport of Makassar, capital of the Island of Sulawesi. After meeting our guide, we will be driven to the Toraja Land.
In the evening, we will arrive to Rantepao, the most important village of Tana Toraja Region. Our hotel is located here.

DAYS 4 – 5 Toraja Tour
During these days we will visit the most charismatic places of the Tana Toraja Region. We will visit the village of Kete´kesu where we will be able to appreciate the curious shape of the Toraja traditional houses, the North-South distribution of the villages, the stone graves of Londa, guarded by Tau-Tau (wood effigies representing the deceased), high up a rock. If during the stay we have the opportunity to see a ceremony, we will assist to see the fascinating ritual that is taken to honour the deceased. Return to Rantepao to Sleep.

DAY 6 TORAJA PANORAMIC WALK
After breakfast, we will depart by car to Batutumonga Area, one of the best view points in Tana Toraja. From Batutumonga we will start walking trought the ricefields, bamboo forest and small villages to Tikala, where our driver we’ll wait for us for back to Rantepao for lunch. Free afternoon at Hotel.

DAY 7 TORAJA – MAKASSAR – BALI
We will be driven through “transulawesi” road to Makassar, Sulawesi’s capital. During this trip, we will visit the traditional villages of the Bugis, who live in all the South of the Island. They are known by their ability to build “phinisi” boats and by their houses set on stilt. We will have lunch in Kupa Beach, where a great tropical scenery can be contemplated. In Makassar, we will take the flight back to Bali.
Arrival in Bali and transfer to Ubud, geographical centre of the Bali Island. Rest of the day free for you to relax, have a walk around Ubud and visit its markets, temples and art galleries. Accommodation in Ubud.

DAY 8 TRIP TO Kintamani
After breakfast, departure to Batubulan to attend a performance of Barong dances inspired on the ancient history of the Hindu Mahabarta. Then, visit to the village of Kintamani, which is located in the external slope of the Batur Volcano Crater. From this point, we will enjoy of an amazing view over the Volcano and the Lake Batur. We will have lunch and, on the way back to Ubud, we will visit some Temples and villages full of history ; Tampaksiring and its temple of the sacred fountains of Tirta Empul; Goa Gajah, the Elephant Cave dated from the XI century;Mas, identified by its excellent wood carving and Celuk, famous for working on silvery.

DAY 9 TRIP TO BEDUGUL – DANAU BERATAN – JATILUWIH – TANAH LOT
After breakfast, departure to the village of Bedugul, located in the jungle area of the island. This part of the island is colder, so the Balinese take advantage of Bedugul to plant vegetables and cereals. This is why the market of this village – that we will visit in the morning – has special colours. Later on, we will visit the botanical garden and the Ulun Danau Bratan Temple, situated by the Lake Bratan. We will have lunch in the village of Pacung and then we will go to the rural area of Jatiluwih – in Balinese language this means really wonderful – where we will see one of the most beautiful landscapes of the whole island with never end stepped rice fields. Next, we will visit the Tanah Lot Temple, probably the most charismatic one of the island for two reasons: it is perched atop a rock dug by the strength of the tides and because the sunsets are astonishing.

DAY 10 TRIP TO BESAKIH
After breakfast, departure from Ubud heading Klungkung, where we will see the Justice Court and the Goa Lawah Cave, home of thousands of bats. This Bat Cave has for the Balinese a religious sense. Then we will visit the Mother Temple of Bali : Besakih. This Temple is built in the mountainside of the Agung Mountain (3.400 meters), which is the highest mountain of the island.
We will have lunch in Bukit Jambul and return to Ubud through Bangli, passing by small villages and temples.

DAY 11 BALI (UBUD)
Free days in Ubud. Accommodation and breakfast. Optional activities: guided tours, dances, shopping, gastronomy, bike tours, rafting, etc.

DAY 12 DEPARTURE FROM BALI – OUT
At the arranged time, transfer to the airport for departure.
