January 23rd Lunar New Year Day
This day, Korean People and government enjoys for 3 days as a real new year day visiting old parents expressing respects & thanks to old generations. Special New Year Celebration Performances by children are performed from this day for 2 weeks in Magyongdae Children’s Palace( ticket Euro20). This day is one of drinking day, many people are drunken this 3 days of holiday.
February 6th Grand Moon Day(Daeborumnal)
This day, Korean people enjoys with all kinds of dried foods like dried mountain herbs of minimum 9 kinds. In the evening, many people, especially younger people enjoys meeting on the highest point of bridges / hills under the rising up Grand Moon.
March 5th Farmers Day
This day, every villages of countryiside enjoys with traditional national sports and dancings.
March 8th International Women’s Day
This day, all the organisations in Pyongyang and countryside are enjoying lunch mostly or dinner with the women in their organisations. Tourists can enjoy this day together with our people. This day is more and more important and popular as the days go by.
June 1st International Children’s Day
This day, all the kindergartens in Pyongyang and countryside are organizing music & dancing & amusement sports functions participated by children and parents. In Pyongyang, the most popular places where these functions are opened are Mangyongdae Fun Fair Ground, Daesongsan Fun Fair Ground in front of Nam Gate of Mt. Daesong Fortress.
June 6th Korean Juvenile Corps Foundation Day
This day, all the primary schools and middle schools of this country organizes celebrations of music & dance & sports games.
September 5th Education Day
This day, all the Universities, Colleges, Middle schools and Primary schools and all the organisations involved in education of the country celebrates this day with mostly sports games in the whole country.
Out of these celebration days, we have Nationwide National Costums & Dressing Contest Day, Nationwide National Food Cuisine Contest Day, the exact days will be confirmed later, and very important day – August 24th “Day of Tourism” ( foundation day of KITC in 1953) when KITC-NTA employs enjoy in a stadium even though this is one of busy season for KITC-NTA.
NOTE: Air Koryo is on a “black list ” of the European Union. There fore we need to advice all our clients about this matter.
